UWSC Survey Methodologist, Jennifer Dykema, elected to AAPOR Executive Council

Jennifer Dykema, UWSC Senior Survey Methodologist and Research Scientist, has been elected Associate Chair of the Membership and Chapter Relations Committee of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) Executive Council. Her term on the Executive Council will begin at AAPOR’s 67th Annual Conference on May 17-20, in Orlando, Florida. In describing how her background and experience prepared her to handle the job of Associate Chair Membership and Chapter Relations, Jen noted: “In my role as the primary survey methodologist for one of the largest university-based survey research organizations, I have the opportunity to interact with survey data producers and consumers at all levels, including faculty, non-university clients, project directors, programmers, analysts, and interviewers. That view from all sides has confirmed for me the value that AAPOR and its chapters can provide to nearly anyone in the research process and data consumption chain. My job as methodologist is to increase knowledge and spread appreciation for proper research practices. I am excited by the prospect of translating that mission to the larger community by helping AAPOR perform that role for our field.”
