Faculty Director Nora Cate Schaeffer and Survey Methodologist Jennifer Dykema participate in the 2015 AASRO meeting

The Association of Academic Survey Research Organizations (AASRO) held their 9th Annual Meeting at Rutgers University. There, participants previewed a preliminary version of “AASRO General Interviewer Techniques Training Program,” a collaborative effort by researchers at the UWSC and the University of Michigan to create an online, evidence-based course for training new interviewers on standardized interviewing techniques. The meeting also featured sessions on how to effectively “communicate what we do” as academic survey research centers, GIS in survey research, and IT systems and software for survey project management. Scott Keeter of the Pew Research Center and Cliff Zukin, former AAPOR president, gave invited talks. In addition, there was discussion and information-sharing on the challenges and issues facing academic survey research centers.
