City of Madison Paid Leave Study

CLIENT

Leann M. Tigges, Professor, Community & Environmental Sociology, UW-Madison

DESCRIPTION

The City of Madison Paid Leave Study is a mixed mode web/mail survey of Madison city employees. The goal of this study is to explore how city employees understand, use, and experience many aspects of family and medical leave. The survey asked about individuals’ experience with requesting and taking leave as well as their opinions about several hypothetical leave decisions. Results from this survey will be used to inform discussions about potential future programs and policies. Professor Tigges and her team presented preliminary results at the American Sociological Association Annual Meeting in Montreal in August, 2017.
