UWSC team to display a poster at Showcase 2025 on using WisconSays to recruit for qualitative research

The UW-Madison Showcase, an annual event to highlight organizational improvements and innovations across campus, will take place April 17, and a UWSC team will be there. Project Directors Ken Croes, Jacob Boelter, and Nadia Assad, and Faculty Director Jen Dykema, will display a poster titled “Recruiting Participants for Qualitative Research with the Probability-Based Panel WisconSays.” Their poster documents innovative uses of UWSC’s online panel, WisconSays, to recruit participants for qualitative research. Recruiting for qualitative research can be time-consuming and costly. Recruiting participants using WisconSays offers several advantages. First, WisconSays supports probability-based recruitment. Second, it has enrolled thousands of Wisconsin residents from all 72 Wisconsin counties and therefore has excellent coverage throughout the state. Third, WisconSays also has a wealth of demographic and attitudinal data about its panel members, which means that recruitment can be targeted to populations of interest. Finally, fielding recruitment screener questions on WisconSays is cost-competitive with other recruitment methods.
